Carlo Mollino Polaroids by Fulvio Ferrari and Napoleone Ferrari delves into the works of the Italian mid-century architect, designer, and photographer of the same name. One could consider Mollino to be quite the polymath, dedicating four decades of his career to designing buildings, homes, cars, fashion, and more. His work embodied sensuality and movement. This curation (257 pages) showcases photographs from a series of approximately two thousand female portraits, only recovered after his death (1905-1973). Taken with a Polaroid camera between 1960 and 1973, the images depict a fetishistic and surreal world. Mollino’s artistic process utilised props and evocative clothing as elements to tell a story, later using a microscopic paintbrush to attune the images to his personal vision. This collection of work is an exploration into Carlo Mollino’s distinct artistic perspective.
