S/S2001 CHRISTIAN DIOR BY JOHN GALLIANO ICONIC CADILLAC BAG

A quintessential relic from the high-octane John Galliano era, the Cadillac bag is a definitive fusion of mid-century Americana and Parisian couture. Part of the iconic Cadillac collection from the early 2000s, this piece draws direct inspiration from the sleek curves and chrome detailing of vintage 1950s automobiles, embodying the "logomania" and rebellious luxury that defined Dior’s aesthetic at the turn of the millennium. The bag features a sophisticated multi-textured construction: a body of Cannage-quilted perforated leather paired with glossy patent accents. Its most striking features are the silver-tone "Chris 1947" license plate and the signature red and silver "tail-light" grommets at the base. This silhouette is more than an accessory; it is a cultural artifact that captures the moment fashion became obsessed with industrial design and speed.Finished with structured rolled handles and a spacious interior, the Bowling Bag is a trophy for the archival collector. It represents a period where Galliano redefined the house's heritage through a lens of camp, glamour, and street-ready edge. A rare, museum-grade find for those looking to own a piece of the era that changed the luxury landscape forever. Good conditions, some scratches on the bottom part of the bag and spot on the lining, see photos. Measurements: Height 6.5 inch 17 cm Length 14.5 inch 36.5 cm Width 5 inch 13 cm
